Hillary Clinton is a lawyer and politician who served as First Lady of the United States under her husband Bill. She is also a prominent advocate for children’s issues. Her library is located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Central Arkansas Library System dedicated the library on Monday. During the ceremony, Secretary of State Clinton read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to children.

As the first lady of the United States, Hillary Clinton championed family and children’s issues. She fought to pass the Children’s Health Insurance Program, worked to increase funding for research into cancer, AIDS, and osteoporosis, and urged gun control. She was a vocal advocate for the victims of 9/11 and helped to expand TRICARE, which provides health care coverage to members of the military and their families.
As she campaigned for president, Hillary focused on the need to strengthen America’s middle class and to protect the dreams of people of all ages. She worked at the Rose Law Firm, and her work focused on child advocacy and family law. She also published scholarly work on children’s law. Despite being considered a rainmaker at the firm, she often worked fewer billable hours than other partners in order to carry out charitable work and commitments that arose from her husband’s governorship.
In October of 2017, Secretary Clinton returned to Yale Law School to speak with Dean Heather Gerken. She spoke about her book What Happened and the importance of finding a balance between family, work, and public service.
Hillary Clinton is an activist who works to advance social justice. She is a lifelong supporter of education, children, and women’s rights. She founded her own children’s charity to combat poverty and started the first Social Justice Sewing Academy to empower young artists.
